The Laws Of Kingdom Prosperity - The Laws Of Purpose (Law 1)
If the
purpose of a thing is not known then abuse is inevitable and abuse
always damages the abused and short-changes and frustrates the user.
Kingdom Prosperity as we learnt yesterday is not only material but is all encompassing, covering all aspects of life. It is not the end or the goal of life. Making material prosperity the goal of life has brought bondage to man as it has birthed many problems. People can do anything to prosper and they can lose their dignity to get it, they can oppress and enslave fellow man to get it. When they think they have gotten it, many die before fully realizing the reason why they have invested their all to get it. The Ancient Hebrew King in the bible, believed to be the richest man ever lived, amassed so much of material prosperity but in his writings wrote about the nothingness of such pursuit for wealth as the goal of life. [Ecclesiastes 1 and 2]
Religion has not made it any better but made people to think that the end of all things is prosperity. Now everyone is focusing on one of the aspects of prosperity, which is the material as they think that having more of it will give them control and meaning in life. One extreme promises people to get all prosperity after death and hence people live unproductive lives preparing for a life to come and do little with the life that is. The other extreme focuses on having all of it at whatever cost, taking God as a super power or magic charm better than any to make sure that they have it. Some want the wealth and prosperity to come by different means like anointed substances like water, oil, and other objects.
With
all this in mind like we said in the introductory blog, there is an original form of
government called the Kingdom of God which is ruled by a King who
created everything and knows why he did so. When we try to understand
from Him the reason of existence and the real goal of life, we are set
free from unproductive efforts and pursuits that rob us of the best of
our lives and time for something that will not in the end give us
fulfillment and meaning. The Kingdom perspective of prosperity shows us
that mankind was created in the image of God to be like God in order to
have dominion on earth and manage the new territory called the earth.
This introduces the first law of Kingdom Prosperity called the Law of
Purpose- Original Intent.
Why are you supposed to prosper in the first place and what is the goal of your existence? In success teaching we talk of Clarity of purpose as the single and foremost important principle of any form of success. The Law of Purpose as said earlier states that if the Purpose of a thing is not known then abuse is inevitable. Abuse always damages the abused and frustrates the user in the end. In the Kingdom of this unique King, Prosperity it is not the end but the beginning and a guaranteed resource because of a greater assignment to be fulfilled. The purpose of prosperity which we discussed in the introduction as covering the Spiritual, Psychological, Emotional, Intellectual, Social, Relational, Physical, Existential and everything that has to do with one’s life is just to capacitate one to function effectively in their assignment which is generally to extend the rule of the king to the territory of the earth.
Every kingdom has a culture, a way of life and a policy system. This Kingdom had been in existence in a territory called Heaven and when the King made another territory called the earth he put man for the purpose of extending His rule on earth. This understanding helps us get in touch with the reason of you prospering in every aspect. This is why we are talking about Laws of Kingdom Prosperity. We are calling them Laws because they are principles that apply universally. The system and government has worked and has always been working in this territory called Heaven and hence if taken by its same laws and principles to another territory it has to work. It is the answer to the failing governing systems of the world that has failed to administer prosperity to all its citizens and protect the territory of the earth while getting the best out of it. When the promised deliverer of the Kingdom (Jesus Christ) came he taught his students how they were supposed to relate with the heavenly government system. He taught them what they were to ask of the King which was to say,
Your Kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. [Mathew 6: 10]
Kingdom Prosperity is not something that one has to have a problem to get but is part of the King’s provisions so that they will be able to fulfill their assignment. With this understanding one will put prosperity in its right place, not as an end but only important when used in purpose, not difficult to get but available without any loss or exchange of life and dignity but a gift to the one who knows how to use it.
Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant. [Psalm 35: 27]
The above quote was originally written in the Hebrew Language and the word prosperity was translated from a Hebrew word ‘shalom’ pronounced as (shaw-lome'); which means, safe, i.e. (figuratively) well, happy, friendly; also (abstractly) welfare, i.e. health, prosperity, peace:
Our purpose of existence guarantees us of provision and abundance of everything that is needed to fulfil our earthly mandate. After understanding our general purpose of existence, for prosperity sake it is important for everyone to understand their unique purposes of existence. A first century messenger sent to announce and administer the message, news and teachings of this Kingdom by the name of Paul, understood this and wrote,
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his PURPOSE for them. [Romans 8:28-29]
